Daniel Domènech Remains Chair of Afehc
Daniel Domènech will continue as Chairperson of the Spanish Exporting Manufacturers Association for the Hospitality Industry (Afehc) for another four years in what will be his second consecutive term.
The candidacy of the outgoing Executive Board was the only one presented, so it was proclaimed the new Executive Board at the end of the Afehc General Assembly of 30 November.
In addition to Daniel Domènech (Vollrath Pujadas), the Afehc Executive Board members are as follows: Rafael Olmos (Zummo) and Alfonso Acha (Sammic) as Vice Chairpersons, Julio Luis García (Caff) in his capacity as Secretary, Sergio Isabel (Repagas) as Treasurer, and members José Ruiz (Iberital) and Francisco J. Ramón (Infrico).
Daniel Domènech said he was committed to continuing with the current line of work “in favour of strengthening and increasing the internationalization of the Spanish sector of equipment for the hotel, restaurant and catering industry”, while highlighting the strength and resilience demonstrated by these Spanish exporters within the context of the Covid-19 health crisis.
In the same way, the Afehc Executive Board, which plans to expand its membership to nine, highlights the value of business associations by encouraging collaboration between member companies, “because dialogue and union can become strategies for facing difficulties and challenging times”, said Domènech.
According to the Afehc Chairperson, the challenges faced by Spanish manufacturers and exporters of hospitality equipment include the digitalization of companies on international markets and the promotion of environmental sustainability as a competitive advantage of internationalization, not to mention operating on foreign markets with new export regulations. “In addition,” Domènech said, “international trade is currently facing supply chain challenges on a global scale.”
