Spanish manufacturers of equipment for the hospitality industry head to Mexico

July 2018

The Spanish Exporting Manufacturers Association for the Hospitality Industry (AFEHC) has made arrangements for a group of companies to participate in Abastur, a leading trade show in Latin America specializing in equipment and food for the hospitality and catering industry. The thirty-third edition of the annual event will be held from 28 to 31 August 2018 at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City (Mexico).

This will be the fourth time that a group of Spanish manufacturers visits Abastur with the help of AFEHC. Groups were also organized in 2004, 2006 and 2008. Moreover, this foreign trade promotion activity forms part of the 2018 Industry Plan for Foreign Promotion of Hospitality and Catering Equipment Manufacturers designed by AFEHC in collaboration with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment.

Under the umbrella brand "Horeca Equipment from Spain", a group of six Spanish companies will promote their products in Mexico, the Spanish horeca equipment industry's second export destination outside Europe. The Spanish group is made up of the following companies:

• FRICOSMOS (professional stainless steel furniture for the hospitality industry and supermarkets)
• GARCÍA DE POU (disposable and single-use items)
• JOSPER (charcoal ovens)
• ONNERA GROUP (cooking equipment, warewashing equipment, refrigeration equipment, food preparation and distribution equipment, and laundry equipment)
• ZUMEX GROUP (automatic citrus-fruit juicers) and
• ZUMMO (automatic citrus-fruit juicers).

AFEHC promotional actions for this event have included publishing a brochure to provide information on the products of the Spanish companies at Abastur 2018. It will be sent to potential buyers of equipment for the Mexican hospitality industry and will also be distributed at the trade show.
